Social Responsibility
Aligning our business with community interests
Foodbank.
TIS Electrics provides the testing and tagging for Foodbank’s headquarters/depot in Yarraville as well as their warehouse in Brooklyn absolutely free of charge every year.
Foodbank is an amazing charity which provides food parcels to our community’s most in-need, easing the burden of buying groceries for those who can least afford it. In 2019 alone, Foodbank across Australia sourced enough food for 77 million meals to meet the huge demand of feeding the millions of Australians who are unable to afford a meal.
Foodbank also do a lot of good work towards tackling Australia’s huge food waste problem. By using a large portion of food which would otherwise go to waste, for their charity work, Foodbank saved 81 million kilograms of C02 emissions from being emitted in 2019 alone.
For these reasons TIS Electrics is proud to be supporting such an important organisation, and will continue to do so into the future, as long as they require our services.
Centacare Ballarat
Centacare Ballarat is an important charity for Ballarat, providing critical support services for Ballarat and its regional community. Centacare provides a wide range of services including but not restricted to family relationship services, employment services, youth and family support, support for the homeless, mentally ill and disabled.
TIS Electrics is supporting Centacare Ballarat by donating 10% of costs from all electrical maintenance conducted at participating Catholic schools in the Ballarat region back to the charity in that school’s name. In this way, TIS Electrics gives schools the opportunity to give back to an organisation which directly benefits their community, students, and staff for a wide range of issues.
Belgravia Foundation.
The Belgravia Foundation is an incredible charity focused on providing disadvantaged and disabled people with the opportunity to go swimming and access physical exercise, working with the philosophy that “everyone has the right to access a healthy and active lifestyle”. By working with Belgravia Leisure, a management company for fitness, leisure and aquatic centres across Australia and New Zealand, the Belgravia Foundation works to make these centres more accessible for those most disadvantaged.
TIS Electrics supports the Belgravia Foundation by providing its test and tag service to every Belgravia Leisure site across Australia and New Zealand and giving a percentage of the cost back to the Belgravia Foundation to be spent on that site. By using our services, each Belgravia Leisure centre is able to raise money for its own community to be spent on making their facilities more accessible to everyone.
“TIS Electrics have not only created ongoing fundraising to help create good outcomes for communities, their generosity and approach has created a way for recurrent donations which require very little effort from the local communities in which the money will be used, allowing people to focus on delivering programs that help communities. That’s what is known as a ‘win, win.’”

State Schools’ Relief
State Schools’ Relief is a charity organisation which provides aid to Victorian State School students, donating school uniforms to financially disadvantaged families - currently supporting 1 in 10 Victorian State School students!
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, State Schools’ Relief will need more funding than ever to support the many students from families impacted economically.
TIS Electrics is supporting SSR by donating 10% of costs from all electrical maintenance conducted at participating schools back to the charity in that school’s name.In this way, TIS Electrics gives schools the opportunity to give back to an organisation which directly benefits them and their students.
TIS Electrics has built its entire business model around large-scale planned and reactive electrical
maintenance. Unlike many of our competitors in Victoria, who have developed electrical
maintenance divisions to complement other services like electrical installation, HVAC, or cleaning,
we’ve focused solely on electrical maintenance. This means our operations, systems, OH&S
protocols, software, and staff training are all designed to deliver the best electrical maintenance
service possible—and this focus is evident in our high client retention rate.
Key Advantages Consistent Reporting and Data Management
Our data is stored on a centralised database for up to 10 years, and our tailored ServiceM8 operations system allows us to customise our processes to meet the specific needs of Monash City Council. Our experienced administration and accounts team ensures timely invoicing and reporting, adhering to key performance indicators (KPIs). This approach has been demonstrated through our successful management of large contracts, including ongoing maintenance for Toll Group, Team Global Express, VicGov and FedGov.
Customised ServiceM8 System
The ServiceM8 system will be used to organise scheduling, send reminders, and manage job descriptions and assets for maintenance. We've customised ServiceM8 to fit electrical maintenance tasks, reporting, general administration, and OH&S requirements, ensuring all maintenance is performed efficiently and on time. For Monash City Council, we will integrate ServiceM8 with your asset maintenance and work order management software to ensure smooth
and coordinated service delivery.
FileMaker Software – Industry-Leading Data Capture
TIS Electrics has developed FileMaker, a leading-edge data capture system that enables fast, accurate, and real-time record-keeping. This ensures that invoicing and reporting requirements are met well within the expected timeframes and that all data is stored on a centralised system for up to 10 years. With FileMaker, we can easily handle Monash City Council’s administrative needs, ensuring a seamless experience and asset data captured to your exact specifications.
Category 1 Thermographer Expertise
Mitch Cooper, our resident Category 1 thermographer, specialises in thermal imaging and temperature analysis for electrical systems, an expertise beyond that of a typical A-grade electrician. Mitch can detect heat anomalies and identify potential issues before they lead to failures, reducing the risk of breakdowns. While many companies rely on standard electricians for thermographic surveys, our specialised expertise provides a clear advantage.
Dynamic, Scalable Team
We focus on cross training our staff, allowing our team to be proficient across multiple areas of electrical maintenance. This approach reduces dependency on individual staff members and enables us to adapt quickly to project changes. For example, Mitch Cooper, our Senior Electrician, brings extensive experience in public housing projects, while technicians like Kaitlyn Rizio and Peter Schembri excel in areas like exit and emergency light testing, RCD testing, and more. This flexibility means we can easily adjust roles to meet project demands.
Positive Performance Indicator (PPI) Monitoring
We use Positive Performance Indicators (PPIs) to track and improve our performance. Our management software generates monthly reports detailing work orders, response times, and target achievements. These are reviewed bi-weekly, and staff feedback is encouraged, ensuring that our services consistently meet or exceed expectations. This continuous monitoring and feedback loop allows us to adapt and optimise our service delivery.
Sustainability and Life-Cycle Planning
TIS Electrics has established strong relationships with suppliers, allowing us to source the highest quality products at competitive prices. Our life-cycle planning focuses on maximising the longevity and reliability of equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance. For example, we manage exit and emergency lighting systems across various sectors, planning upgrades proactively and sourcing high-quality products that extend system lifespan. We also provide future budget estimates to help our clients plan ahead.
Emergy-Efficient Lighting Upgrades
We’ve successfully completed energy-efficient lighting upgrades for a range of clients, including Toll Group and Team Global Express sites. In some cases, these upgrades have led to a 40% reduction in energy consumption. By building strong relationships with our suppliers over the years, we ensure access to high-quality, cost-effective products. This approach saves our clients’ money on both installation and ongoing electricity bills. These upgrades provide immediate cost savings while helping our clients meet their long-term sustainability goals by reducing their carbon
footprint.
